My baby

It is a very special emotion to know that there is a little one growing in you.

For me, from the moment I saw her (yes, it's a GIRL!) from the ultrasound, she was just 6wks old. She was a dot. Then, on her week12, I saw this little figure and her heart. We heard her fast heartbeat. That was the very 1st moment I felt that something really special has happened. There is a small person inside me.


In wk16, she was moving around so much on the ultrasound screen, which amazed me because I totally don't feel her active moves in my tummy at all. She was turning so much in her own space that she practically showed us every possible angle. She also gave us a 'high 5' during that visit. Seeing her again on my week20, she is still as active as ever, my gynae had to make a few attempts to capture her heartbeat because she kept changing position. We can see her facial feature slightly clearer too.

Starting week22, I can already feel her whenever she moves or turns. Initially, I thought there was gas in my tummy, but when we went for a party during Mid Autumn Festival, the music was so loud that I felt her rhythmic kicking, only then I realized that it wasn't the gas! She moves more at night, about 1am onwards... I hope she is not a night owl like me. I am not sure if she can hear me already even though some books said baby hears sound starting week 24 - 25 onwards. Ning said that the baby should learn proper English and Chinese without 'slang'. Hmm... wonder if I should talk to her now. She might be contaminated with Manglish even in the womb. hihi...

We will visit our gynae again next week. See if we can find out something new about her.
It is a blessing to be pregnant.
