Meet up @Doha
Meeting my Doha friend seems to be harder than it seems.
ONE.
We were supposed to meet up when I flew to Houston because we have a 3hour layover. So, my friend was excited enough to willing to wake up at 6.40am in the morning and bring us around the Corniche for breakfast and drop us back to the airport for us to continue our flight.
TWO.
We decided to detour to Istanbul before going back to KL. So, we will have to stay a night in Doha. Cool! We can meet for dinner and fly off to Istanbul the next day. So, we cancelled the 3hour layover meet up.
THREE.
We dropped Istanbul plan, and extended our stay in Houston for another day, which means, we will arrive in Doha on Wednesday night just in time to have dinner with my friend and fly out at 1.30am in the morning. Nice.
FOUR.
6 hours before our flight departs, we received a call from Qatar Airlines informing that the flight has been delayed. Instead of leaving at 7.30pm tonight, it will leave at 6.30am the next morning. 11 hours delay. As we have not received the final confirmed schedule from the airline, we don't know the timing of the connecting flight to KL. So, chances to meet my friend is uncertain.
FIVE.
Since we have another 11 hours more to kill, we went out to check out places in Houston. When we returned, we checked with the airline again and was told that... the flight was cancelled and a new flight is scheduled THE NEXT DAY!
So, at this moment, we will inform my friend only when we board onto the plane... 15 hours notice is good enough.

Flexible is the WORD.
=)
As flexi as Qatar Airlines...... no wonder she stays in Doha...
well, i am down with flu here. So now resting at home. Hope i don't have fever... else they might not let me take off with the plane.
take care ahdo!!!
going to study 易经 soon...易,变也...=P
I happen to have personal experience with Qatar Airlines' "flexibility." Because of that we came to know Tanzania airport very well in 40C heat and no A/C. And that was the first day of 2009!
Lemme experience Doha heat.
See you in 16hours.
