Be considerate

I swear that I will try to be a considerate client if I ever work at the client side.

I am working on a job which is to launch a campaign in 7days. For those who are not in this industry, you probably don't know that most of the time, it takes 2-3months to plan and implement a campaign. However, the nature of the account I work for is very competitive that we normally take about 2wks to 1month to propose, plan, produce before the campaign launches. 2wks to 1month is very rush for any campaign launch. I have 7days including Saturday and Sunday.

While we are readily committed to work around the clock for this, we told the client that once they approve the plan by noon today, we will rush the work out within less than 24hours to give to the supplier for production. But they are taking their own sweet time, while the whole team is on standby... just waiting for their feedback to proceed. Wait. Not sure what time they will revert, not sure how much they want to revise... not sure how long we need to stay up for the night.

Now, it's 5.30pm, and we are still waiting. The client expects agency to work through the night no matter how late they revert.

So, I am telling myself now... if I become a client to an agency next time, if it is within my control, I will be more considerate because everyone has a life to live, your retainer fee only covers 9am to 5pm of our time, so, just please! Be considerate!
