A Surprise Birthday Party for Ning
This post was written last week but then I was rushing to leave to Beijing on Friday night. And I only get to online now, so it's time to update it.
That's the reason why I had to write in Hokkien in my previous post.
Last week was a very busy week. Plenty of late nights in the office and we were planning for a surprise birthday party for Ning on last Thursday.
Me and Ning's mom planned this with Yvonne, our Westin's friend to get the guests, food, and decor ready for Thursday.
I rushed to pick up the food I catered and got stuck in a massive jam after heavy rain in KL. When I got back to the apartment, things were not ready and Ning's mom was just starting the spring roll she planned to make... When Ning called me, I of course told him that I went out for meeting and couldn't talk... he believed... then he called me at 7am again and said that he was heading home... OMG... the guests only arrive at 7.30pm and our food was not ready yet!
Mairead and Nancy held him at the lobby until he bumped into one of the guests who saw him and congrats him... there goes the surprise... Anyway, he didn't realize that there were also other guests that we invited...
The party went on smoothly and it ended up a bit tipsy for some of us.
